November 2008 Low Pressure Sound System are doing a show in Mullumbimby at the Mullumbimby music festival from 2pm until 5pm on Saturday the 24th at the fully restored Civic Centre, which is a nice venue for musicians.
With members of the Band of Frequencies..Sydney reggae band King Tide, OKA and AfroDizziAct, it is going to be a feast of music over 3 hours.

"Life Like Liquid" has been released in Japan with a launch tour featuring live sounds from Low Pressure Sound System & Ash Grunwald.
Starting on the 17th of October through to the 24th of October 2007 Low Pressure Sound System & Ash Grunwald embarked on a tour of Japan to promote the Movie 'Life Like Liquid' & it's double album soundtrack. Ash Grunwalds new CD 'Give Signs' was also released through the Japanese Record Label Surf Rock International who organised the performances in coastal surf cities such as Fukushima, Chiba, Shona as well as a couple of shows in Tokyo.
This year the film was played on big screens between acts at Fuji Rock festival's main stage to around 60,000 people.
'Life Like Liquid' was the first full soundtrack from low Pressure Productions.
Low Pressure Sound System toured the East Coast of Australia in Nov. 06 with an audio visual show for the launch of Dave Rastovich's movie, 'Life Like Liquid'. The soundtrack to the movie features members from well known Australian bands such as King Tide, Ash Grunwald, Afro Dizzi Act, Oka and The Winnie Coopers. On the tour they again experimented with playing live soundtracks to footage by legendary surf cinematographers George Greenough, Albe Falzon, Jack McCoy and Dick Hoole.
Since then they've been asked to record several surf film soundtracks, perform in many different lineups for different occasions and have been expanding their musical horizons.
"Under the Sun" by Californian film maker Cyrus Sutton is the next release that Low Pressure Productions have been involved with. Under The Sun will be released through Ubiquity Records in 2008.
Low Pressure Sound System played at SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS 2007. The ambient show at Splendour, with special guests, crafted an audio visual piece especially for winding down the event on the Saturday night. Although billed as Band of Frequencies it was Low Pressure Sound System.
Low Pressure Sound System presented their live soundtrack show at Woodford Folk Festival with a 12 piece band, most of whom were involved in the making of Life Like Liquid".
The Music of LOW PRESSURE SOUND SYSTEM
Low Pressure Sound System is a collective of musicians who record soundtracks & perform live.LPSS have a versatile array of sounds coming from a plethora of back bones, back catalougues and solid grooves that are quite often improvised. The musicians trust in the natural flow, communicating through subtle signals and expressions, just feeling their way through extended improvisations within their music.

Some of the music will lean towards Band of Frequencies heavy roots, free soul and psychedelic rock sounds or OKA's uplifting indigenous electronic influence, Rastovichs's trippy ambient journeys, Winnie Coopers Aussie Hip Hop flavours or King Tides' reggae/dub/ragamufffin influences, the Low Pressure Sound System shines through as an original and intriguing mash up of all these elements. It all depends which musicians are available for the recording or performance.

Below is Terepai Richmond and Mark Henman both on drum kits for the Low Pressure Sound System gig at the Mullum Music Festival Nov 2008. Low Pressure had an 11 piece band for this 3 hour presentation, the music went through many genres.
LPSS Cinematic Experience explores the creation of live soundtracks to breathtaking footage. Depending on the performance they will create ambience and spaciousness or driving, pulsing rhythms with rolling bass lines and evocative washes of sound and colour in direct resonse to the footage being played. The visual experiments have opened up a whole new spectrum of possibilities for audiovisual interaction in their shows, and a recent government grant will make our Island Time Festival with the Band Of Frequencies, off the hook!
