Many people will remember Laurie from the old Surfing World days of innocence and stoke, where he was one of the chief contributors. A book producer himself, Laurie's library is slowly being uncovered, here is a snapshot of 70's bliss.

The Photography of Laurie McGuiness

With good friend, Peter Crawford, Laurie produced some of the finest surfing related books of the late 1970s and early 1980s and i encourage anyone to chase down Wildwater and surfing fundamentals to name two. Travelling the world in the 1970s working for surfing magazines and getting to shoot some of the nicest surfing destinations and the real golden era of surfing. Classic images, soul archs, drawn out bottom turns were the norm and here is a very brief glimpse of some of surfings superstars from that era.
