Biography

Ryan Heywood
photographer

Ryan is a creative character bordering on explosion, yet lined with grace and cool. HEYWOOD HOME ryanheywood.com
is one of his cyber spaces, but he is more likely to be found in the water, or at some happening event jamming out interesting photos of interesting people, with photos that make you feel like you are right there watching the scene.

Today he is designing some thread for surf heads and bums, trunks and guns not just for mates at rates that dont put food on plates. Following are some words from Andrew Crockett on Ryan Heywood.

In 2003 when I was diligently collecting images for my first book, switch-foot, Ryan Heywood was blowing me away with his passion for cameras, stoke and sense of fun. In this modern era, where digital photography is 'normal'
having money in the pocket can buy you into focus. While these sorts of technologies seem to be embraced and flashed around, some folk like Heywood remain in the film bubble and today are finding classic relic cameras, cheap as chips. Heywood is from the classic school, with inspiration coming from some of the finest creative types of his generation and also some of the legends from the past. Just ask him, he will rattle off all kinds of names of modern day creative types that many of us in Australia might never have heard of. California is not unfamiliar to Heywood, and with the way the World is today, it will be tough for him to stay off the radar, if he continues to lend his passion to photography, fashion and design. It almost seems like the big companies need someone like Heywood to starve off the infection of corporate greed and the sterile environment and image they seem to breed.
