Cyrus Sutton is an independent creative whose talents in media production have allowed him to work with many influential people and garnered him a coveted Emmy Award at 23 years old. Now 25, with a hand full of commercial, independent, television and print credentials to his name, Sutton is delving into collective works with super styling distribution strategies.
We recommend anyone who is interested in quality surfing films to look at the first film by the kid, called RIDING WAVES. There are you tube links on the mainbar, or troll around the internet, you will find all kinds of stuff. Riding Waves was an impressive first film, with a hero cast of 5 surfers including John Peck, Joel Tudor, Rob Machado, Donovan Frankenrieter and Dane Reynolds completed in 2003.
'Under The SUN is a bold film, a big idea and to the credit of Sutton, he completed the task through unpredictable adversity, including having his camera gear stolen twice while in Australia. At the centre of this film is one of the hippest record labels in street funk, ghetto groove reality, Ubiquity Records. The sound speaks for itself, then add 16mm film to the equation and countless hours of animation to give you an idea of the production spent over 3 years. This film is the sort of production that would be best viewed with people who appreciate surfing history, appreciate a quality film production and are prepared to sit for an hour and tune in. The cast... Dave Rastovich features heavily on all kinds of surfcraft in all sorts of waves from Australia to Indonesia, there are older guys, guys on tour professionally, kids, former contest surfers now gone alternate country dwellers...Under The Sun touches on a contrast of familiarity, the split in the middle of surfing, from competition to country living that seems destined to live on. Byron Bay and the Gold Coast again get more airplay, and I am sure this wont impress the locals who are already trying to steer tourists in another direction, but the resounding message we feel at the conclusion of the film is that it doesnt matter which side of the fence you are on, it doesnt matter what board you ride, because we are all one, under the sun.' The Music of UNDER THE SUN
Under The Sun premiered at the Newport Film Festival and WON 'best action sports film' 2008. The film is finally touring Australia Jan 2009 and we are helping with the music at two shows, Byron bay and Noosa Heads....poster below.

Cyrus is coming to Australia to help tour this film with Tim Bonython and over a dozen stops with two films, bands and summer love.
